What is National Police Clearance?

A National Police Clearance, also referred to as a Police clearance certificate, is an official document granted by the Philippine National Police (PNP) that validates that an individual does not have any criminal records in their database. This clearance differs from a local police clearance, which includes only the applicant’s history within a single municipality. The Police Clearance Process usually includes online registration process, the application form submission in case of physical application together with required documents which includes passport, address verification, and job contract information. To receive your police clearance certificate, you must pay $150 processing fees within 10 to 15 working days. If you need an urgent clearance certificate in twenty-four hours, then choose express processing service. The application will be reviewed by the higher concerned authorities for verification, and if all conditions are satisfied, the police clearance certificate will be issued.

Why National Police Clearance so Important?

You would be needing a Police clearance when you apply for local jobs it is also mandatory for many:

  • Legal process,
  • Businesses licenses
  • For visa application
  • Credit card authorization.

Previously, obtaining a police clearance meant long lines and challenging documentation. Even though, the procedure for requesting a police clearance has simpler and easier, as you don’t anymore have to stand in long queues and the only thing you require an internet connection to apply online for police clearance application. However, physical attendance at police station remains mandatory for biometric data collection.
